Cart Abandonment and Checkout Step Calculator
Find which checkout step leaks the most revenue, size the prize from fixing it, and see how long an A/B test on that step would actually take.
Your checkout funnel
Enter how many people reached each step over one period. Numbers can only go down as you move through the funnel.

Where the revenue leaks
Revenue at risk is what the people lost at a step would have been worth if they had gone on to convert at the rates of the rest of your funnel. These figures do not add up to your total, because fixing an early step still leaves those people facing every step after it.

Fix one step
Pick a step, say how much better it gets, and see what that does to orders, conversion rate and revenue.
Where to test first
The same improvement is not equally easy to prove at every step. Deeper steps usually convert better, which needs a smaller sample, but fewer people reach them, which means fewer people per week. This works out the trade-off.

Sample sizes use a two proportion test with the normal approximation, the same maths as a standard A/B test calculator. Weeks assume traffic is split evenly across variations and that everyone reaching a step is eligible for the test. Treat the result as a planning estimate, not a promise.
